Product notes

The 2018 vintage in Napa Valley was exceptional — typical rainfall in winter and early spring led to a consistently sunny summer, with warm, steady temperatures guiding the grapes to full and even ripeness. The vintage leaves its mark on this wine in the form of exuberant fruit and expressive acidity.

Production notes

With depth, complexity, density and incredible structure, our estate-grown Gallo Signature Series Cabernet Sauvignon will cellar for 10 years or more. The wine opens with fruit-led notes of blackberry, black cherry, dark plum that blend seamlessly with hints of dusty cocoa, star anise and sage. The layered, full-bodied palate is framed by fine-grained tannins and a long, persistent finish.

Tasting notes

The grapes for our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon were harvested from late September to mid-October. The grapes were gently destemmed and crushed before undergoing a cold soak. Grapes remained in contact with the skins for three to four weeks to enhance flavor and color extraction. Lots were kept separate, then blended to marry three months before bottling. The wine was 100% barrel aged for 18 months, 64% new (47% French, 17% American) and 36% neutral oak barrels. The wine was aged an additional six months before release.
